The Chesapeake Baysavers is an Annapolis-based environmental nonprofit group with a mission to advocate for the health of the Chesapeake Bay through legislative efforts, community awareness, environmental and economic stewardship. We employ this through data driven science to effect change.
In order to accomplish our mission, Chesapeake BaySavers is made up of two separate entities that each play a vital role in restoring our beloved Chesapeake Bay:
Chesapeake Baysavers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay through education and community outreach.
Chesapeake Baysavers, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve, protect and promote the health of the Chesapeake Bay through legislative efforts.
We envision a Bay that is healthier and safer for all of us: from swimmers, anglers, boaters, and seafood consumers to the critical health of the oysters, crabs, fish – as well as the flora that allow them to flourish and without which there would be no sustainable seafood industry, no tourism, no “land of pleasant living”
We will continue to fulfill our vision by bringing together scientists, economists, environmental groups, seafood industry, tourism, government official and Bay stakeholders. In order to create effective and enforceable legislation to advocate, protect, and preserve our beloved Chesapeake Bay.
